RESEARCH ENGINEER: SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Convergent Science is an innovative, rapidly expanding computational fluid dynamics software company. Convergent Science has developed a CFD software package, called CONVERGE, that is a general CFD code which is a revolutionary CFD software with truly autonomous meshing capabilities. Convergent Science is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, and has offices in the United States, Europe, and India. Position Overview: This job posting is for a full-time position at our Madison, Wisconsin headquarters. We are seeking a CFD software developer. Duties include: + Develop CFD codes for large-scale flow simulations + Utilize C, C++, and MPI for CFD engineering software development + Collaborate with support and sales engineers to incorporate specific models into CONVERGE + Run cases with new features and share results + Develop proposals for future work + Implement and validate multi-phase, multiphysics flow models + Implement and validate turbulence models + Implement and validate combustion models + Implement and validate Lagrangian spray models + Debug parallel code Requirements: + M.S. or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field + Extensive CFD knowledge (desirable) + Combustion modeling knowledge (desirable) + Turbulence modeling knowledge (desirable) + Spray modeling knowledge (desirable) + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + HPC knowledge (desirable) + Experience programming with MPI + C++ programming experience (desirable) Benefits: + Salary commensurate with experience + Possible annual bonus + Paid holidays and paid time off + 401k with employer match + Health and dental insurance + Short- and long-term disability insurance and life insurance.
